A conference for educators in their early years of practice and for prospective teachers enrolled in an educator preparation program


 MTA’s Early Career Educators Conference presents the perfect opportunity to meet with fellow educators and get tips on everything from classroom management to supporting students with a wide variety of needs.  

This one-day conference, brought to you by MTA’s New Member Committee, will also offer workshops on Professional Teacher Status, teaching students with trauma, and strategies for mindfulness and stress management.MTA’s Early Career Educators Conference presents the perfect opportunity to meet with fellow educators and get tips on everything from classroom management to supporting students with a wide variety of needs.

The conference will be held on November 16 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Mountview Middle School in Holden, MA.

Please note: This conference is appropriate for school district and teachers’ use as part of induction programs for all new teachers (603 CMR 7.00). The MTA will provide all conference participants with a record of attendance.

Albert Einstein Educator Fellowship Program


Apply to the 2020-2021 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program. Applications open August 12, 2019.

Are you an outstanding STEM teacher?
Do you want to learn and grow as an educational leader?
Are you eager for a chance to make a difference and have an impact at the national level?

Fellows spend eleven months working in a Federal agency or in a Congressional office. Current sponsoring agencies include the U.S. Department of Energy, the Library of Congress, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).
Fellows receive:
•             A monthly living stipend of $7,500.
•             A travel allowance of up to $5,000 for approved travel related to their host agencies and approved professional development opportunities.
•             An education allowance of up to $1,000 for approved educational expenses aligned with the Fellows’ individual professional development plans.
•             Reimbursement for moving/relocations expenses up to $3,500 for Fellows relocating from outside of the Washington, DC, area.
•             Einstein Fellows are eligible to receive a stipend of up to $550 per month (individual plan) or $1,300 per month (family plan) to offset the cost of health insurance.
